Eau Claire's National Night Out

Your local police invite you out to Owen Park tonight.

The Eau Claire Police Department will be hosting their 20th annual National Night Out event this evening from 5 pm to 7 pm. There will be fun activities including dunk tanks, inflatables and fingerprinting as well as free food for those that attend.

ECPD's Community Relations Officer Kyle Roder says the event encourages citizens to get to know their community. He says the people can come to meet their neighbors, their police officers and is a family-oriented summer activity.

Roder says the event serves as a reminder that the community has a responsibility when it comes to crime prevention. He urges citizens to be engaged citizens and be aware of the abnormal activities in their neighborhood.

There will be music and prize giveaways at the event. ECPD will also be partnering with UW-Eau Claire for a night showing of "Monster University" after dark at Haas Fine Arts lawn.
