Travis Buhler was raised in Hayward Wisconsin and has lived in the Chippewa Valley since 1998. He and his wife are both born again Christians and home school their eight children in Augusta. Travis started a house painting business in 2005. In 2009, he was asked to become the editor of the Eau Claire Journal. Now The US Journal, this conservative, monthly newspaper promotes the defense of life, liberty, and property and encourages Americans to live responsibly and righteously before each other and their God.

Travis summarizes his political views in the following way, "God ordained two institutions for society, the family and the nation. The family is in charge of raising children and economic provision. The nation via the state (or government) is in charge of defending life and property. Today the state has taken charge over the raising of children and economic provision and has neglected the defense of life and property. This has resulted in social and economic problems and, in some cases, the violation of our life and property by the institution ordained to protect them. Many of our political problems could be solved if we would separate family and state."

Why “In God We Trust” is Our Motto?

We removed God as a nation and replaced him with the next greatest power – government. And unlike God, government often fails – especially when government is doing something God did not design it to do. This is why our failure to trust in God is the answer to most of the problems in this country Read More

Fiscal Cliff – Our Best Option

I have a list of four of five fundamental issues that will lead to the downfall of America as we know it.  One of them is the massive amount of government spending.  Our budget this year is over 3.7 trillion dollars.  To put that in comparison, imagine if Washington DC decided that our government was so vital to the interests of the world that a direct head tax should be levied on every man, woman, and child of the planet.  Each “citizen of the world” would have to mail a check for $621.50 in order to pay for this year’s budget.  That’s $2,486 for a family of four! My Apology to Republicans

I treated Republicans as if they were a machine or a system rather than individuals, some of who are just as passionate as I am regarding abortion and gay marriage. Read More

Social Conservatives – The GOP is Dumping You

But the Republican Party lacks this backbone.  They are not into what is right and moral.  This is true for the national party, if not for many state parties as well.  Unfortunately, the national party often leads the smaller parties down the path it wants to go.    Read More
